Let's get you that $1MM to start the OSU study

Rex,

​I thought about texting you about this idea, or writing a formal proposal.

But it just loses the real punch.

(I'll bet you already figured out that I'm your friend, Garrett Dunham.)

What you saw in the mailer is a first draft of what I propose sending out to potential donors.

It is modeled closely after a mailer that brought in $427,500 initially ($270k profit, plus $157,500 of his initial 175,000 dollars sent). They then followed up with the 157,500 people who initially donated and generated over $10MM in total donations.

So, here's my proposal.
  1. First, we'll polish up the letter copy using some professional copywriters (~$1000)
  2. Then we'll send out 250 test mailers (cost ~$1.927 each = $481.75)
  3. Then we'll collect data, see if we made a positive return, and do revisions and additional tests until we get a profitable campaign.

Overall, I'd expect an initial net outlay of $3k-$5k before we find a profitable mailer.

Once it's profitable, we'll scale it until it funds your study, legalization campaign, an endowment for the foundation, whatever needs funding.

So, what do I get for this effort?

Rather than charge you $20,000 or more to get started, I'll bet on myself and ask for $0.20 from every dollar made above the costs of sending mailers (including initial testing costs and copywriting).

So your maximum downside is $1,481.75 for a total bomber (zero response) where we just pull the plug with an upside potential of $10MM+.
